Not keen on that digital fantasy feel? Plenty of artists like to rock it old-school style and use fire. Not only does it feel dramatic but it has the added benefit of being off the grid. No batteries required for this Mad Max-esque sculpture! Just the artist’s incredible talent and FIRE! How anyone comes up with a roving, flaming octopus is anyone’s guess, but we are so happy that someone did. This is one of many astounding installations available at Burning Man.

Some artists believe more is more and so we end up with these sorts of pieces which are nothing short of monuments! What appears to be a brightly lit up rocket ship can double as an observation deck with space to climb up to in the middle and the top! Artists continue to strive to outdo previous years and in 2018 there were 383 pieces place. Doubtless even more in 2019 although we don’t yet have the figures.
