You might never have expected that some of the most famous women in the world were once cheerleaders. That being said, given how much charisma and stamina one needs to be a leading cheerleader, it is actually not that surprising when you think about it. There are quite a few similarities between cheerleaders and actresses, namely in that they both try to get an audience or crowd excited and emotional.

Cameron Diaz

We start our list off with a woman who was, of course, a teenager once, long before she appeared on the big screen. Cameron Diaz was a cheerful and sweet young lady attending Long Beach Polytechnic High School throughout her teens. The yellow and green colors that you see her wearing here are the school’s official emblem. See how dreamy she looks in the picture below? Maybe she was fantasizing about being an actress.

Diane Sawyer

Seneca High School’s cheerleading squad would never be the same after Diane Sawyer left. She contributed an incredible and spirited service to the Louisville, Kentucky school where she grew up. With that kind of cheery charisma, you can bet that many television channels were interested in having her on board. Her career in television began shortly after she left her beloved school, where she commenced promoting the Coca-Cola Pavilion at the World’s Fair.
