An episode titled “Crew Confessions/Haven’t I Seen You?/Reunion”, that aired in 1979, had Don Knotts playing a famous television star who came on the boat disguised as a shoe salesman. It is only when the gorgeous Julie Newmar hits on him that he reveals his real identity.

Step by Step

The Christmas episode of Season 3 of “Step by Step” had Don Knotts make a special guest appearance as Deputy Fife. The episode aired in 1993. This was a clear example of just how successful and popular his iconic character had been in “The Andy Griffith Show”.
