Will He Make It?
Mark has heard that the veterinarian will be there in an hour. He had the impression that the snake wouldn’t make it through this. The veterinarian did everything in his power to get to the appointment on time. Mark was fortunate in that he picked up on something in the background. Someone was making their way closer to him.

Finally Arrived
When Mark heard the sirens, he felt a sense of relief because the police and animal control were already on their way to the scene. Even though they were unable to do much about the snake, at least they were able to keep it safe until the veterinarian arrived. Which could happen at any given time.
