How It All Began
In April of 2016, Jessica was matched with the couple through the help of Omega Family Global. After all the checks and procedures to see if she was fit enough to carry someone else’s baby, the surrogacy procedure began with in-vitro fertilization, where a male embryo was implanted into Jessica’s uterus. She followed strict orders from her doctor both before and after the procedure and despite her efforts, six weeks later the doctor came across something unexpected.
Unexpected
During the routine six-week scan, the doctor noticed that there were, in fact, two babies. Even though it is usually extremely rare for the embryo to split, this was the case. Jessica was relieved to hear that nothing was wrong and the couple was ecstatic about the news too. They had gotten far more than they bargained for, but it was a joyous result nonetheless. Jessica and the couple now had new arrangements to discuss, however.
