Given that Abby and Brittany would be performing a single job together, they understood that they would only be paid a singular salary. Brittany was of the mind that despite the fact that they were effectively filling the role of a single teacher, that they brought so much more to their classroom than just one person could. She would describe their combined teaching method, where Abby could be teaching, and Brittany could watch the students and respond to their questions.

Of course, the sisters were just starting out in the working world, and they were confident that as they progressed in their careers, that their employers would be more open to negotiations. They did both acquire separate degrees, and provide their individual quality work.
