While salt may add a lot of flavor to food, it can negatively impact your blood pressure. Eating too much salt can raise your blood pressure significantly and lead to dreaded cardiovascular conditions. You don’t have to cut salt out of your diet completely because a certain amount o salt can actually be good for you, although, it is highly recommended to avoid going overboard with the salt shaker if you want a long and healthy life. Additionally, cooking with salt is much healthier than adding it to food later. As little as 3.75 grams of salt per day is more than enough to keep your heart health in check.
