You can also use WD-40 to clean the strings of your guitar. Not only that, but it also protects them from damage. There is nothing worse than snapping a string when you are deep into a jam session. All you would have to do is apply some WD-40 to a cloth and then wipe them by resting your thumb on one side and then the rest of the fingers on the other. Just keep doing this in a sliding manner until you cover the entire length.

You just need to spritz on, wipe in circular motions, and then admire your handiwork!
