Play Place
Artificial light is a popular medium of many artists at Burning Man. From sculptors to costume creators, it allows them to create beautiful contrasts with the vast night sky of the desert all while remaining environmentally friendly. This particular piece is constructed to look like a playground jungle gym and its triangular shape is perfect for the character from Tron (1982) whom you can spy climbing the pyramid-like shape. You can bet that plenty of people unleash their inner child.
Incredible Light Shark
This wicked looking shark is constructed from metal and LED tubing. It can be explored inside and out and like all other pieces are meant to be consumed by fire at the end of the festival. It is the most dramatic, but also the most simple way to dispose of the piece in order for the artist to remove any waste and adhere to the principle of “leave no trace”. You might think that this is a waste of time and effort, but all that matters is that they were there and affected people positively.
