Melissa Gilbert also starred in The Miracle Worker as well as The Diary of Anne Frank. She also worked on numerous films and it is quite surprising to know that Melissa Gilbert actually ran for the U.S. Congress during the 8th congressional district of Michigan, which not everyone knows. Even though she did win the Democratic primary, unfortunately, she gave up the race as a result of injuries that she sustained from an accident in 2012.
